Anticardolipin AB IgG

Pre test Information : No Special Preparation Needed

Cardiolipin antibodies are immune-mediated autoantibodies that mistakenly target the body's own cardiolipins, which are found in the outermost layer of cells (cell membranes) and platelets. These autoantibodies have an unknown effect on the body's ability to regulate blood clotting. The presence of cardiolipin antibodies in the blood is detected by this test.

Why Should You Get Tested?
To aid in the investigation of abnormal blood clot formation, to aid in the determination of the cause of recurrent miscarriage, or as part of an evaluation for antiphospholipid syndrome or other autoimmune diseases.

When Should You Get Tested?

When you've had one or more unexplained blood clots (thrombotic episodes) in a vein or artery; when you've had recurrent miscarriages, especially in the second and third trimesters; or when you have symptoms of an autoimmune disease.
