A Pap test, commonly known as a Pap smear, is a treatment used to check women for cervical cancer.

Cells from your cervix, which is the lower, narrow end of your uterus that is at the top of your vagina, are collected for a Pap smear.

You can prevent cervical cancer from developing by first identifying these abnormal cells with a Pap smear.

Why is it done?

Cervical cancer is screened for using a Pap smear.

Who needs to get a Pap smear?
