A straightforward lab test that determines what is in your urine is a 24-hour urine collection. The test evaluates kidney performance. You can perform a 24-hour urine collection by storing your pee in a specific container for the full day. Until the urine is brought back to the lab, the container needs to be kept cold.
Water and dissolved substances like salt and potassium make up urine. It also has urea in it. When protein breaks down, this is produced. Additionally, it contains creatinine, a compound created when muscles break down. In most cases, urine includes some of these waste materials. If these numbers are outside of a normal range, it could be an indication of a certain disease or condition. or if additional chemicals are present.
