Pre test Information : No Special Preparation Needed
Creatine Phosphokinase-MB is a sensitive and specific marker for Acute Myocardial Infarction. CPK-MB measures blood levels and relatively binds the combination of two variants of the enzyme phosphocreatine kinase, such as isoenzymes CKM and CKB. Measuring the ratio of CK-MB1 and CK-MB2 isoforms is much simpler and more accurate. The Creatine Phosphokinase-MB test detects isoforms of the myocardium's B subunit. Creatine Phosphokinase-MB is useful as one of the best diagnostic tools for MI, even when elevated after irreversible myocardial injury. It is easier to identify patients with acute coronary syndrome, and any therapeutic intervention reduces myocardial damage.
What is the purpose of the Creatine Phosphokinase-MB Test?
Creatine-Phosphokinase-MB tests were previously used to detect and monitor heart attacks, and they are now used to precisely measure the sequence. Creatine Kinase MB testing is used to confirm Myocardial Infarction and Myocardial Injury. Creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB) is a common enzyme found in heart muscle cells. The Creatine-Phosphokinase-MB test is used to determine the amount of CK-MB in the blood. Creatine-Phosphokinase-MB (CK-MM) exists in three forms in skeletal muscles and the heart. CK-MB is found in the heart and in trace amounts in the skeletal muscles. CK-BB is found in the brain and is a smooth protein.
