Pre test Information : No Special Preparation Needed
The Dengue Antigen NS1, IgG, and IgM test detects the dengue virus's non-structural protein component (NS1) as well as antibodies (IgG and IgM) produced by the body in response to infection. NS1 and IgM are secreted into the blood during dengue infection and can be detected within 3-4 days. As a result, this test aids in the early detection and treatment of dengue infection. IgG antibodies appear after the 14th day of infection and last for the rest of one's life.
The most common initial symptoms of dengue are high fever, fatigue, and flu-like symptoms.
If the infection is not treated, it can progress to more severe forms such as Dengue hemorrhagic fever or Dengue shock syndrome.
Why are Dengue Antigen NS1, IgG, and IgM tests performed?
The Dengue Antigen NS1, IgG, and IgM test is performed if there is a high fever within two weeks of travelling to an area where there is a dengue outbreak or where dengue fever is endemic.
