Pre test Information : No Special Preparation Needed
A Pap test, commonly known as a Pap smear, is a treatment used to check women for cervical cancer.
Cells from your cervix, which is the lower, thin end of your uterus that is at the top of your vagina, are collected for a Pap smear.
You have a better chance of being cured if cervical cancer is found early thanks to a Pap smear. A Pap smear can also identify alterations in your cervical cells that point to the potential emergence of cancer. You can prevent cervical cancer from developing by first identifying these abnormal cells using a Pap smear.
Who needs to have a Pap smear?
When you should start having Pap tests and how frequently you should do so are decisions that you and your doctor can make together.
Generally speaking, doctors advise starting Pap testing around age 21.
