Stool Culture Test
Pre test Information : No Special Preparation Needed
Your doctor may request a stool sample or order a stool culture if you've been experiencing stomach issues. This examination can look for bacteria, viruses, or other pathogens that may be causing you illness in your faeces.
What Makes You Need It?
If you experience any of the following, your doctor may recommend this test:
- longer-lasting diarrhoea than a few days
- faeces with blood or mucous in them
- stomach cramps or discomfort
- Nausea
- hurling up
- Fever
Your physician could be more worried if:
- Either you are very young or old.
- Your immune system is weak.
- You have visited foreign countries.
- You consumed tainted food or water.
- Your symptoms are severe
