Triple Test

Multiple Marker Screening, Triple Test, and AFP Plus are the names of this test. The triple screen test is a maternal blood screening examination that tests for AFP, hCG, and estriol, three distinct chemicals.
The foetus produces a protein known as AFP, or alpha-fetoprotein.
Human chorionic gonadotropin, or hCG, is a hormone made by the placenta.
Estriol: The foetus and placenta both create estriol, an oestrogen.
A blood test is used, which is a non-invasive treatment with little to no known danger to the mother or unborn child.
